Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the striker last?
Your two strikers should outlast the matches that come with the vase. However, sometimes it depends on how often you light your candles, incense, cigars, etc.

Can I get more replacement strikers?
You can order more strikers, in any shape, on our website for 25 cents each plus 50 cents for shipping.

I already have a favorite container for my matches, but the striking surface has worn out. Do you sell the strikers by themselves?
Yes, you can order strikers without our containers for 50 cents each plus 50 cents for shipping.

Why doesn't this have a lid?
We buy these vases wholesale, already designed by another company. In the near future, we will have our own designs that will include lids.

Is this dangerous for me to mail as a gift?
No. As long as you ship UPS Ground or US Postal Service Parcel Post, you'll be in compliance with shipping regulations. Just use plenty of cushioning.

What kind of matches are these?
These are strike-on-box safety matches that are available in your local supermarket. They are different from strike-anywhere matches that can be struck on any rough surface.

Do you only sell green matches?
Actually, we now have some lovely burgundy/brown matches, and some white ones. By April 2012, we will be able to offer a rainbow of colors. It's just that the green ones are the easiest ones for us to buy right now.

Do the strikers only come in black or brown?
Yes. That's due to the chemical nature of phosphorus. Believe me, if we could make the strikers in different colors, we would!

Do the strikers only come in the shapes featured on this site? What about initials?
Only for now! We hand punch these shapes out of sheets of match friction. Before the year is over, we will have equipment that allow us to cut all kinds shapes and even initials. Keep in mind, that shapes can't be too intricate or small because you need enough space to strike the matches. The same goes for initials; we will be using thick fonts like Arial Black, Wide Latin, and Stencil.

Can these be engraved?
Soon. Similar to the question above, we're investing in the kind of equipment that will allow us to do engraving on the vases.

Can these be private labelled?
Absolutely. Just contact us and let us know about your business. We will need a vector file of your company logo, or if you want it in color, then a high resolution image of it. Your logo would go on one side of the vase, and the striker would go on the other.

Is this product Made in the U.S.A.?
This product is designed and assembled in the U.S.A. By the definition laid out by the FTC, we cannot legally claim it's "Made in the U.S.A." because significant parts of it, namely the glass vase and striking surface, are imported. The green and burgundy matches ARE manufactured in the U.S.A., but in the future, the rainbow of colors we want to offer will also be imported.
